Do You REALLY Need to Be Doing That?
Wanna learn the filter that landed me in Miami? (I'm assuming that's intriguing enough that you've kept reading.)
It's tempting to think that I say all these things in my Friday newsletter but don't actually do them.
No shade; I get that.
But here I am, in Mi-am-i, because I used a go-to tool that I've shared with you before. It's a filter that's simple and effective, and one I use all the time... so much so that it's like putting my seatbelt on.... I use this without even thinking.
So how did I end up here?
This trip hits multiple goals I care deeply about: space for celebrating someone I love, space for rest and renewal, and inspiration for my work.
Now let’s get YOU to Miami (or wherever you want to go).
Two years ago, I started using a filter that changed everything about how I manage my time, energy, and attention. It’s my go-to when I feel overwhelmed or unsure about what to do next.
Here's the filter:
Does this actually need to be done? (You’ll be surprised at how many tasks don’t!)
Does this need to be done NOW? (It might feel urgent, but is it really?)
Does this need to be done BY ME? (I know, this is the toughie.)
Ask the hard questions. And then live like a person who knows what they want… and doesn’t need to scramble around trying to do everything on their own!
Dreams need goals. Goals need sequencing. And sequencing needs good filters.
So... before you dive into that next “urgent” task, pause. Ask yourself: Is this the best use of my energy right now? And drop in next week if you want to learn more about delegation... the key to saying no, it doesn't have to be done by me!
